Collection language

Hi,

what difference between Portuguese-br collection and Portuguese collection. Maybe enough only Portuguese collection? And you forgot to translate namespaces... --Baya 11:46, 10 February 2006 (EET)

• Various(? or some) words and verbs is different from Portuguese of Portugal to Portuguese of Brasil ! Twice options of collections for each especif language is better, because when a people alter one collection, this not affect other collection !
  All setup of software instalation, as Microsoft and others, has this two options: "PT - Português" and "PT-BR - Português (Brasil)" with some differences... Morais 18:23, 10 February 2006 (EET)

• MediaWiki contains only pt language system messages set. Maybe in our case it will be enough one pt db, and you create pt-br system messages set + pt-br rd messages set. So everybody can select pt or pt-br in his/her Preferences? You also can add pt-br system messages set to Wikipedia in this case. --Baya 20:56, 10 February 2006 (EET)

• Baya, in the WikiPedia the code pt-br exist in combo of language preferences !
  I don't know why one project of Wiki has the 'pt-br' and other haven't... !? :-(

• Baya, in the Collection file has an variable with yourself value: 'Rd_familyexistsinotherlang' => 'Rd_familyexistsinotherlang'. What is it ? Am I need to translate this ?
  - Why haven't a variable as "Rd_Talk" to translate the sufix of this option in ALL pages? Ex
  'Rd_Talk' => 'Talk' (english)
  'Rd_Talk' => 'Discussão'(portuguese).

Father changes of Pt collection

not reflect on any languge. This is already exists in global database. Keep order and continue you translation directly on http://pt.rodovid.org/ When you decide that global Pt collection is good, say me and I add it from http://pt.rodovid.org/ to all languages.   I found this file of MELLO and MORAES (other spelling of my family) surname in a link http://gens.fateback.com/arquivos/indexarquivos.html on site http://www.genealogias.org - menu: "ARQUIVOS" (http://gens.fateback.com/gn_arquivos.html) and option "Arquivos Genealógicos".

Other procedures

Suggestion for "Other procedures" in Gedcom parser: Why don't add an option to SHOW SKIPPED RECORDS ?
I can clean these records from gedcom cache, but when I upload new file (same file with edits) ALL records will be processed other time more, no ?

• I can add this option but on request you will see gedcom data instead names etc....
• We, Rob and me, discuss update procedure here.
• Gedcom cache is not editable. But with special "update" refnum it is not a problem.

Total of processed record

Total of processed record is everytime between 19 and 24 records ONLY, after each time that I submit page with button "Continue"... Is it ok? How to expand number of records processed at each submit ? Morais 00:12, 14 March 2006 (EET)

• Script execution time is limit to 25 seconds. During this time script process from 19 to 29 records. I can expand this number of records by two ways:

1. increase execution time (bad idea)

This not a gedcom references. It can be SSN, AFN and other unique person numbers/ids in other systems. One of this refid can be auto genereted refnum that can be used for further updates.
