Ben, don't spend your time, I will finish gedcom autoimport over couple of days. Currently pure mechanism is ready (See Balbo Baggins Tree, imported during 5 minutes) and I'm working over checking for missing data (sex, clan, surname, some dates, etc) during import... --Baya 14:09, 11 February 2006 (EET)

Thanks, please tell me when its finished.--Bjwebb 20:41, 11 February 2006 (EET)

Now you can test Special:GedcomParser . Please add links to some of bests your trees. Last my test is a full royal.ged file Special:Tree/905. On this tree so many marriges between siblings.... --Baya 05:06, 12 February 2006 (EET)

[edit] inputbox

If you need some additional extensions or hooks, I set them, just ask --Baya 14:52, 21 February 2006 (EET)

Well it would be great if you could do GEDCOM export, as well as import. I'm thinking of being able to export all the people related to a person (no matter how distant). Would this be possible?--Bjwebb 20:30, 21 February 2006 (EET)
  • Of course, you have added this to features requests, so i will do this. But now I'm working for case insencitive search and clan values.... --Baya 22:13, 21 February 2006 (EET)

I have asked you about subj for english localization? If no, :) Would You like to be a sysop of english localization? So you will repaire all my and other mistakes in sys messages etc (I think that you know what sysop can and must :)). --Baya 14:31, 22 February 2006 (EET)

Yes, I would like to be sysop.--Bjwebb 17:29, 22 February 2006 (EET)

I continue your tests :) --Baya 19:09, 22 February 2006 (EET)

[edit] Problems

I've had problems with en:Project:Sandbox. I created a sandbox and used it to show the customizable tree. I started getting a bad title error, so tried deleting and recreating it. That didn't work, so now it doesn't exist. I get a bad title error for Rd_Engine:News as well, after I edited it. I think something goes wrong whenever I edit a page with Rd Engine: in front.--Bjwebb 21:07, 22 February 2006 (EET)

  • I add posiibility to use commnets into showtree hook. Check --Baya 12:12, 23 February 2006 (EET)

[edit] Also how do I edit menus / the edit page etc

I mean how do I change sytem messages now I am a sysop. Is there a list of them somewhere.--Bjwebb 19:59, 23 February 2006 (EET)

  • Every localisation has Special:Allmessages that contains all system messages with name and text. In general, system messages are standard wikipages in special namespace called "MediaWiki". So when you as sysop, edit these pages/messages you set new messages text. engine:Special:Allmessages and en:Special:Allmessages --Baya 20:53, 23 February 2006 (EET)
    • Thanks--Bjwebb 21:52, 23 February 2006 (EET)

[edit] Rodovid Rules

Hello

There was a pretty large discussion on Rodovid Engine about establishing rules. You can see the result of this discussion on this page:

We propose to begin applying these rules Sunday, August 1 and to watch how it runs. Sincerly. --Christophe Tesson - talk. 12:09, 24 July 2010 (EEST)
