Why I can't select PT - Portuguese language when ADDing PERSON ?
Thanks. Morais 04:00, 10 February 2006 (EET)
- There is a global database which contains all the records. Every language has a special "local" database that can or cannot contain translated data for a person. Not all the persons have translations for all the languages, most of persons exist in db only in one language. During the saving procedure the data about a person stored both in the global db and local db. The field "Language" is just to inform the user in which local db the new record will be stored.
- My language preference is pt (portuguese) and in this box is showed only EN - English, as read-only !
Is not this box display the PT code ? I'm using special characters of portuguese language... Morais 23:09, 10 February 2006 (EET)

- This field inform you in witch local db will be stored data. It not depend upon your language preferences it depend on part of Rodovid.org in which you is working (data will be stored into global db obligatory).
- en.rodovid.org - local db is EN
- nl.rodovid.org - local db is NL
- pt.rodovid.org - is PT
- ONE EXCEPTION. Rd Engine has another global db and only one local db (EN).
- For me the best way (I think!) is to have one unique db and SELECT the language from combo as the SEX or Event type !
Registering ALL changes in the same place/db, user can see all changes of your watched records (person or family code)... Morais 07:34, 1 March 2006 (EET)
