I tried to connect with cs.rodovid over C# and dotnetwikibot, but it not work (connect error). It's possible use dotnetwikibot? It's possible use dotnetwikibot with my account? --kloin 09:12, 7 February 2017 (EET)

We were waiting for you : this is the first of our request. I guess solution is simple for you.

Help Popup behaviour has changed (I think since we are hosted by Amazon, not sure). Help Popups now appears "on mouseover" ! This is a complete disaster! I thought I was the only one crying with these popups, but no. We had several users complaining past weeks, in RD.FR. I tried to teach (in real life) Rodovid to a new user : these popups are a misery to peoples who are not fluent with computers.

Please do something! Yellow Help popups must appears "on mouseclick" and have a close box! Nowadays, new users are quickly facing a Yellow Wall of popups, and they can't close them! Because they open them by accident, and because these popups stay on screen even if user goes to an aother tab…

In the list of users, the order of the cyrillic letters seems to be unusual :

Blocage

Bonjour, Baya. Le 27 janvier j'ai bloqué l'utilisateur Brachid après l'avoir prévenu et qui entrait des fiches sans aucune date ni lieu et évidemment sans source et ce sur de nombreuses générations. Le 12 février l'utilisateur Inestj (avec la même adresse IP) a frénétiquement créé des fiches sur de nombreuses générations sans date ni lieu et toujours sans source. Je l'ai donc bloqué. Тяжёлый запрос

Если сделать запрос на ru.rodovid.org/wk?title=%D0%A1%D0%BB%D1%83%D0%B6%D0%B5%D0%B1%D0%BD%D0%B0%D1%8F:Eventsviewer&e=BIRT&f=800-01-01&t=2100-01-01, то есть без параметра p, в котором указывается место, то сервер на некоторое время подвиснет и будет отдавать 504 на все запросы.

I talked of Rodovid to Ivan A. Krestinin a bot manager for Wikidata (the system organizing language links in Wikipedia), and he asked in return questions about compatibility.

I have only noticed this week that links to Rodovid pages had been added in Wikidata. For example, if you go to the Wikipedia page of Yaroslav the Wise, and if you click on "Редагувати посилання" at the end of the list of languages it brings to the Wikidata page with Rodovid among external links.

Some of the links added are listed in the history of Krbot.

After that I saw that other records of Rodovid had not yet been linked to in Wikidata, so I asked Ivan Krestinin if he could add them (I don't know how his bot works and why it added only some links).

Having these Wikidata links could be a good way to reach quickly Rodovid pages about famous people (and to avoid some duplicates in the different languages of Rodovid). Dn Gov (d) 01:00, 15 May 2017 (EEST)

Удаление умерших

Некоторые участники, требуя удалить личные данные родственников, также настаивают и на удалении данных умерших родственников. Согласно российскому законодательству потомки являются правопреемниками умерших родственников и в том числе имеют право от их лица настаивать на сокрытии личных данных. Полагаю, что в украинском законодательстве аналогично. С другой стороны мало кто может подтвердить подобное родство, особенно если речь идёт о пра-прародителях. Получается, что некое лицо, о котором ещё неизвестно, что оно вообще является тем, за кого себя выдаёт, требует удалить записи, связь с которыми оно вряд ли сможет подтвердить. • На ваше усмотрение )) Я бы, если дедушка/бабушка (и легко прослеживаются) - удалил бы. Во всех остальных случаях если записи добавлены этим человеком, то он их сам может поудалять. Если настаивают на удалении прабаушек и прадедушек и дальше, то можно еще и потролить. Типа спросить у них сканы паспортов и метрик )))

Some new users make Rodovid.FR rolling its slow run. Strange but interresting study about soldiers is developped by a new user in Rodovid.EN.

Complete transcription of Tamerville is now rolling from 1624 to 1864 : more than 18.000 precisally sourced records !

If you think these records are good things for Rodovid, no problem, it's possible to unerase them. But we are several users thinking it's a very bad idea. (See: Stop trolling RD campaign !, en:User_talk:Koavf#Back_to_reason etc.

Here is a good abstract of what are these contributions :

I didn't wrote this, and it's funny, but true.

We all know that this particular user built herself a pathologycally mythomaniac genealogic tree, with connections with almost all noble european families, specialy from Scandinavia and Normandy.
Plus making arbitrary connections from these families with antiques families, and then from Bible or legends etc. Using methods described in Common Genealogy Mistakes. I copy / paste :

• "You are Related to People Who Have the Same Family Name"
• "You Have Royalty in Your Family"
• "Family Trees Can Go Back 1,000 Years"
• "Citations Are Not Necessary"
• "Ignore Minor Things Like Spelling"
• "Fill in the Blanks"

etc.

If you want I can watch precisely last erased records (with help of french users, I must not do that alone) to correct what is possible to correct. But there won't be a lot to save.

This ask the question "what can be a collaobrative Genealogy site?". It seems that we don't have the answer yet.

Привет. Если в тексте поля «Заметки» профиля персоны вставить ссылку с помощью тега <ref> на одну и ту же сноску несколько раз, то обратная ссылка от сноски будет сформирована только для второй и последующей ссылок, но не для первой. Например, в тексте 3 раза встречается ссылка на сноску:

    <ref name="source">...</ref>
    <ref name="source"/>
    <ref name="source"/>

со сноски обратных ссылок будет всего 2:
